2. Financial benefits and prize categories (progressive rewards)

Grants at SAU are divided into general excellence awards and qualitative activity awards, and are disbursed as direct cash support:

First prize (highest academic excellence): worth 3,000 Chinese yuan (CNY) and awarded to the top 5% of students.

3. Strict eligibility requirements and admission criteria

  • Student type: The applicant must be an international student studying at their own expense (Self-sponsored) and enrolled in a bachelor’s program for at least one academic year.
  • Continuity: The student must not have applied for a temporary leave or an extension of the study period.
  • Conduct and Record: Full compliance with Chinese laws and SAU University internal regulations, with a record completely free of any behavioral violations.
  • Academic standards for each category:
    • For the first prize: an overall academic average of no less than 85% , and no subject grade below 80.
    • For the second prize: an overall academic average of no less than 80% , and no subject grade of less than 75.
    • For the third prize: The student’s grades in all subjects must not be less than 70.
    • For quality awards: The student’s grades in all subjects must not be less than 65, with clear excellence in the targeted activity.

4. Evaluation criteria and application steps

The process is subject to careful evaluation that balances the scientific and behavioral aspects:

  1. Application Submission: The student submits a formal written application to the Student Administration Office at the beginning of each academic year.
  2. Attaching records: Submitting official academic records, proofs, and evidence that confirm good conduct and community involvement.
  3. The rigorous evaluation mechanism: The file is evaluated based on a numerical matrix distributed as follows: 75% for academic record and grades , and 25% for daily behavior and activity .
  4. Approval and sorting: Files are subject to final review by the University’s International Student Scholarship Evaluation Committee.
  5. Announcing the results: The names of students who have won monetary prizes and certificates of appreciation are posted on the official SAU University website and on notice boards within the campus.
